Tummy Time with Ashley

Ashley Scully, MS, OTR/L is a pediatric occupational therapist licensed in both New Jersey and New York State who holds a Masters degree from New York University. She has over 10 years of experience in occupational therapy from a variety of clinical settings. Ashley is also experienced in working with children of all ages to improve skills in the areas of fine motor, visual processing and visual motor, motor planning, and sensory processing. Her priority in all of her treatment plans is to optimize a child’s participation in learning and play.

What is Tummy Time?

Tummy Time is an activity/position where your baby is on his or her stomach and off the back of their head. It can be completed in a variety of different positions to improve tolerance for your baby and should be started as a newborn.  Having your baby spend time on his or her stomach is good for developing back and neck muscles needed to achieve gross motor milestones (such as rolling and sitting up), preventing muscle tightness, and preventing flat spots from developing on your baby’s head.

Our event allows you to learn with a professional while making new friends with other new (or experienced) moms!
