I had a breast surgery, now what?

It has recently come to my attention that INSURANCE COMPANIES WILL PAY FOR BREAST FORMS AND BRAS POST-SURGERY. This includes mastectomy, lumpectomy, and reconstruction surgery.

What is a breast form? It is an breast prosthesis. An external implant that is customizable to meet your needs. Many patients do not feel comfortable with plastic surgery or breast implants. Breast forms are an alternative to surgery. They are removable and come in various sizes and materials. They even can come with nipples, freckles, veins, and tattoos!

Where do I purchase a breast form? Post-mastectomy boutiques work with vendors to sell bras and breast forms.

In our area (Morristown, NJ) The Dain Shoppe on Community Place offers this service! You can visit their website here.

Physical Therapy can be a helpful tool post-op in order to optimize healing of incisions, restore mobility and range of motion, and reduce scarring. If you have questions about post-op recover, pre-op rehab, or breast forms please reach out!
